PRIVACY STATEMENT

Under UK GDPR, individuals have a right to know which personal data is being held about them, where it is held, how securely, why and for how long it is retained and how to request to see and alter it, or have it deleted. The Purple Sweep Ltd respects this requirement and encourages all of their customers and contacts to be fully aware of their rights.

The type of data we might hold:

· Your full name

· Your address

· Contact details, which probably include email address and telephone number

· Health details, if any member of your household has a medical complaint that affects how you use your wood burner, stove etc, and any precautions we need to take when sweeping your chimneys

There are four reasons why data might be held for our customers:

1. If you have agreed to be on a central mailing list 

2. If you have contacted The Purple Sweep Ltd via any of our online sources

3. If you have requested a quote, by other means of contact

4. If you are an existing customer

Where the data is held and security:

This data is held on one laptop and in the cloud via OneDrive. In addition to the normal password to unlock the laptop and virus protection, our customers’ personal data is held amongst various folders, all of which have a separate password.

The length of time we would hold your data for:

· If you have agreed to be on a central mailing list, we will hold your contact details until such a time when you request to have your name removed, or we cease trading in your area.

· As our work is generally an annual requirement, we will hold customer’s full data for five years after the latest date when we have cleaned your chimneys.

· Any data we hold for enquirers who have not yet become customers will also be held for five years after the most recent contact made.

Who has access to your data:

We handle all arrangements concerning our marketing, invoicing and the professional visits ourselves. If, for any reason, we needed to employ the services of an agent, they would be bound by the same criteria above. No-one’s personal data is shared outside the remit for which it is held.
